“I did two terms of Pilates classes at studio thirty two and absolutely loved it. The classes are small and intimate and we got great individual attention from Becky our instructor. Pilates is quite subtle but you really begin to feel the different after a couple of classes. I’ve had back trouble for most of my life and I knew Pilates would really help... and it has. I am much stronger than I was and can use what I’ve learned in Pilates to maintain strength and good posture in everyday activities. I know my core strength has improved considerably and that has taken a lot of the strain off my back.

When I became pregnant I was thrilled to find out that another instructor, Lisa, was a qualified to teach ante-natal Pilates. The instructors were very careful about making sure the exercises were suitable for pregnancy, which was very reassuring. I started classes at 19 weeks and had just started feeling very heavy, bloated and sluggish and extremely unfit compared with how I normally feel. After two weeks that had completely changed. Pregnancy Pilates really helps you to get comfortable with the changes that are happening in your body. It gives you a lot of energy and a feeling of space and agility when you’re getting rapidly bigger! Again I’m really glad I’m doing it because I feel it really protects my spine at a time when I really need it. It’s also enjoyable and a lovely bit of time to myself. What’s more my partner recently commented that even though I’m pregnant my body shape and posture has never been better…..and he NEVER says things like that.”

Claire the instructor caters to all the different needs with regard to injury and levels of fitness in the class. I have a back, wrist and ankle injury and Claire always finds a variation for me to do so I’m not in any pain. She also constantly varies the class so it never gets dull! Claire always seems to remember the needs of each person in the class and keeps us challenged and interested.”
